Students are responsible for the proper use of hostel rooms, furniture and institute property and must follow the prescribed rules regarding room allotment, visitors, movement and leave. Smoking, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, ragging, gambling, harassment and other prohibited activities are strictly not allowed.

Residents must use electricity and water responsibly and take proper care of hostel facilities. The use of room heaters, immersion rods, water heaters and electric irons is strictly prohibited, and electricity usage is limited to 30 units per resident per month. Hostel fees must be paid within the prescribed timeline, and students vacating the hostel must follow the applicable notice, fee and security deposit rules.
Medical, Mess & Permissions
Any illness, injury or safety concern must be reported to the Hostel Superintendent/Warden immediately. Students must follow the prescribed mess timings, medical procedures, visitor regulations and leave requirements. Prior permission is required for guests and activities within the hostel premises.
Attendance Policy
Attendance Requirement
Regular attendance is essential for academic progress, classroom participation and professional discipline. Students are required to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance in each subject as well as overall to be eligible to appear in the end-semester examinations. Attendance includes lectures, tutorials, practicals and other scheduled academic activities, and attendance records are maintained by the respective departments.
Condonation & Academic Evaluation
Attendance shortage between 65% and 75% may be considered for condonation by the HOD/Academic Committee on genuine and verifiable grounds, subject to the prescribed procedure and applicable conditions. Attendance below 65% is generally not condonable. Medical or officially approved absences may be considered with proper supporting documents. Attendance and active participation may also contribute to internal assessment as per the institutional evaluation scheme.
Non-Compliance & Appeals
Students who do not meet the required attendance criteria and whose shortage is not condoned may be detained and barred from appearing in the examination, with further academic action as per institutional regulations. Attendance is monitored regularly through the institute’s academic/ERP system, and students and parents may receive alerts regarding attendance shortages. Students may submit an appeal or condonation request to the concerned HOD/Academic Committee with the required supporting documents within the prescribed time.
