Jeevan System – Runners-up in National Finals of Microsoft’s Imagine Cup 2012.
It promises water conservation through automated control and community efforts. This consists of water meters and weather condition checking meters. Data is stored and accessed at a centralized server at Windows Azure which then sends information to the user through Silverlight based web app and Windows Phone app. It controls their water usages behaviour by sending them alerts, creating community participation and hence educates them.
V-NEXTSystem – presented by BKBIET students at 5th International Exhibition and Conference GRIDTECH 2015, New Delhi.
It is a Renewable Integration into Smart Micro Grid, which promises Energy Conservation through Automated Control & Community Efforts. It manages Energy usage. This system consists of software and hardware components. The power usage is controlled by using a set of hardware devices, consisting of Central Control unit, solar panels unit, wind turbine, Biomass generating unit , Industrial & Residential Load. It integrates renewable sources with main grid and focusing on utilization of renewable energy sources located at different places and reduce loading on power generating units and saving of conventional energy sources.
SPARSH – a solar-powered automobile automation for heat stroke prevention.
Heatstroke in cars is a growing problem all over the world. A dark dashboard or seat can easily reach temperatures in the range of 180 to over 200 degrees F. At 107 degrees F loss of consciousness occurs and body stops functioning. SPARSH provides a solution for this fatal problem by using embedded system, information sharing platform, sensors and the whole system powered by the solar panel, placed on the car roof. The system sends a “FORGET ME NOT” warning SMS on car owner’s mobile. SPARSH was selected among top innovative projects for All India Student Research Convention, conducted by IIT- Kanpur in 2015.
SMART Helmet – Trying to minimize two wheeler fatalities
The working principle is: sensing human touch, by using Capacitive Proximity Sensors which are placed inside the Helmet. The behaviour of the vehicle’s ignition is controlled using signals received and hence only gets enabled when signals received are in accordance to the situation of wearing the helmet. SMART Helmet was among the Top Ten Projects at All India level at APOGEE-14, BITS Pilani.
