Faculty Induction Program (FIP) Successfully Conducted at BKBIET, Pilani
The Teaching Learning Centre (TLC) of B. K. Birla Institute of Engineering and Technology (BKBIET), Pilani, successfully organized a Faculty Induction Program (FIP) from 12th to 17th October 2026 for newly appointed faculty members. The six-day program was conducted from 3:45 PM to 5:00 PM in Room No. B3, with the objective of familiarizing faculty members with the institute’s academic systems, institutional facilities, and effective teaching practices.
The program featured 15 presentations delivered by various Persons-in-Charge (PICs) and newly joined faculty members. The sessions covered important institutional functions, including Academics, Admissions, Research and Consultancy, Examinations, Library Services, and Training and Placement. Faculty members also participated in review sessions and teaching demonstrations to enhance their presentation skills, classroom engagement, and teaching methodologies.
The institutional orientation sessions were conducted by the respective PICs. The schedule included presentations by Mr. Ganvan Sahu and Mr. Anuj Sharma (Academics); Mr. Sanjeev Sultania and Mr. Divesh Kumar Rohilla (Admissions); Mr. Abhimanyu and Mr. Surendra Kumar Tawat (Research and Consultancy); Ms. Bhawani Kanwar and Dr. Punit Khatri (Examinations); Dr. Sandeep Dalal and Dr. Dipti (Library); and Dr. A. Sai Phalgun and Dr. Biswanath Dash (Training and Placement).
An important highlight of the program was the guidance shared by Prof. B. K. Rout, Director, B. K. Birla Group of Institutions, who emphasized the importance of eye contact, interactive teaching, and active student participation. Dr. Anil K. Sharma, Principal, BKBIET, highlighted the significance of an appropriate teaching pace and effective voice modulation for successful classroom teaching.
The program was organized under the guidance of the Teaching Learning Centre team, comprising Dr. Hasibur Rahman, Ms. Suman Garg, Ms. Monika Shekhawat, Mr. Manoj Saini, Mr. Divesh Rohilla, Mr. Sanjeev Sultania, and Dr. Punit Khatri. Dr. Suman Garg from the ECE Department served as the anchor for the program.
The program was attended by faculty members from BKBIET, BKBIHE, and BTTI, with approximately 50 participants. Faculty evaluators included Dr. Nimish Kumar, Dr. Smita Pareek, Dr. Y. K. Gupta, and Dr. Hasibur Rahman.
The Faculty Induction Program provided a valuable platform for institutional orientation, professional development, and the exchange of teaching experiences. The initiative reaffirmed BKBIET’s commitment to promoting effective teaching practices and strengthening the quality of education.
