B K Birla Institute of Engineering and Technology Pilani (BKBIET), under the aegis of the Yoga & Health Club, successfully organized and celebrated International Yoga Day 2026 on 21 June 2026 at the institute’s Sports Complex beginning at 7:00 AM.
The event was conducted in alignment with the global observance of International Day of Yoga, whose 2026 theme was “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, emphasizing the role of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental wellness, active living, and overall well-being across all stages of life.
The programme commenced with all participants attending the live address delivered by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on International Yoga Day. In his address, the Prime Minister emphasized adopting yoga as a way of life and highlighted its contribution towards healthy ageing, inner balance, and sustainable wellness. The address inspired participants to incorporate yoga into their daily routines for achieving holistic development.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the combined institutes of B K Birla Institute of Higher Education Pilani (BKBIHE) and Birla Technical Training Institute Pilani (BTTI). A total of 50 participants attended the programme, including 35 Male Participants and 15 Female Participants
Following the address, a dedicated yoga practice session was conducted by Yogacharya Ms Priyanka Aggarwal BITS Pilani, who guided participants through various yoga asanas, breathing techniques, and mindfulness exercises to enhance flexibility, concentration, and overall health.
At the end, the memento was presented to Yogacharya Ms Priyanka Aggarwal by Dr B.K. Rout, Director, BK Birla Group of Institutions Pilani, who motivated and conveyed his best wishes on the International Yoga Day celebration. Members of all the institutions under the BK Birla Group participated enthusiastically. Dr. Vipin Kumar Principal B K Birla Institute of Higher Education Pilani, Mr. Manoj Kumar Gaur Principal Birla Technical Training Institute ( Diploma-BTTI), and Mr. Narendra, In-charge, Birla Technical Training Institute ( ITI-BTTI ), were also present to attend the celebration. The celebration created a positive and energetic environment while encouraging students and participants to adopt yoga as a regular practice for maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. The programme was successfully conducted and managed under the guidance of Faculty Coordinator Dr. Krishna Meel & Mr. Shubham Bharia. Student Coordinator Vansh Verma coordinated efforts to ensure the smooth execution and successful completion of the event. The event concluded with a message promoting wellness, self-discipline, and healthy living through yoga.
