QUASAR-2018 | Annual Techno-Sports Fest | Oct 24th – 27th 2018
Quasar is an Annual Techno-Sports Event hosted at B K Birla Institute of Engineering and Technology, it’s a four day inter-college techno-sports fest. It is largely organized in the month of October every year.
To be the best you need to beat the best, QUASAR offers you the chance to face the best and prove your mettle. It’s a platform for champions in pursuit of glory.
A total of 200+ out-participants from various institutes & colleges have participated in this four day inter-college techno-sports event at BKBIET, Pilani

Quasar 2018 – Inauguration
The Inaugural Ceremony of Quazsar-2018 took place on 24-Oct-18 at 6:30 PM. To commemorate the event Maj Gen Anirudh Banerjee (R) (Chief Executive, BKBIET, Pilani) is the Chief Guest. Also, To honour the event Mrs Banerjee and Mr Akshay Bhatia (Sr. Consultant, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana) were the designated guests. Lamp Lighting Ceremony was conducted followed by an oath ceremony presented by Ojas Raj (Member of the Quasar Team) to the participating teams.
Thereafter, several dance performances took place and demos of Judo Karate were presented, taking the ceremony to its end. To Mark the beginning of Quasar-2018, Inaugural Basket Ball Match was conducted between BKBIET and BKBIET alumni.
Quasar 2018 – Closing Ceremony
Quasar-2018 came to an end, the four-day fiesta of thrilling matches, cheering crowd and unmatched enthusiasm marked its end with the closing of Quasar. This year more than twenty-five institutes and universities, and 200+ players became the part of our annual sports fest. The schedule of the matches was set from dawn till dusk to accommodate the number of matches held.
The closing ceremony of Quasar-2018 took place on 27-oct-18 at 8:30 PM. The event started with the cultural performances given by Dance Club followed by a Nukkad Natak presented by the Drama Club – Darpan.
To conclude the end of Quasar-2018, Maj Gen Anirudh Banerjee (R) (Chief Executive, BKBIET, Pilani) presented a closing speech and a vote of thanks to all the participating teams, organisers, volunteers and every single person who became the part of the Quasar fest.

Inter College Annual Techno Sports Fest Quasar 2018, started on 24th October 2018. First match was played between BKBIET, Pilani and BTTI, Pilani. BTTI won the toss and chose to Bat. They set a target of 92 runs. They played really well and showcased their strength of batting. After displaying their bowling skills in previous innings, BKBIET chased the score really well and were able to complete the set target in 11 overs only. The Man of the Match was Rakesh Bhambhu. Second match was played between HG Memorial, Sikar and Dayal Singh College, Delhi. HG Memorial won the toss and choose to field. Dayal Singh College set target of 97 runs. Then, the players of HG Memorial came for the batting. The innings went very smooth. HG Memorial, Sikar won the match by 7 wickets. The Man of the Match was Vijay Pal. Third match was played between CC’s, Hisar and BK Alumina(BKBIET Alumni). BK Alumina won the toss and choose to field. Players of CC’s were careful in playing the first few balls and they finished with the score of 92 runs. Then, BK Alumina came to bat next innings. Initially, the beginning was good, but, later they found it difficult to chase the target. CC’s, Hisar won the match by 45 runs. Man of the Match was Dinesh Kumar. |
