On the occasion of Matribhasha Diwas, celebrated globally as International Mother Language Day, the Literary Club, in collaboration with the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, organized a vibrant and meaningful celebration on 21 February 2026 at B K Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology Pilani.
The program was organized in accordance with the initiative of the BTU/AICTE/UGC Initiative Committee, promoting linguistic diversity and cultural awareness among students across institutions.. The celebration witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, making it a culturally enriching experience.
More than 20 students presented speeches, poems, and thoughts in their respective mother languages, representing the rich linguistic diversity of India. Languages such as Haryanvi, Urdu, Rajasthani, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Bhojpuri, and others echoed through the auditorium, reflecting the unity in diversity that defines our nation. The celebration was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. B. K. Rout , Director of the institute, and Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Principal. Dr. Rout shared his heartfelt message in his own mother tongue. His address emphasized the importance of staying connected to one’s roots while progressing globally. His words deeply inspired students to respect and preserve their linguistic heritage.
The program was successfully coordinated by Dr. Y. K. Gupta, HOD, Dr. Rashmi, Dr. Manusmriti Sharma and Dr. Disha. Around 90 students were present during the celebration, making it an engaging and interactive session.
