Day 5 – Prize Distribution

The five-day literary fest “Literary Odyssey 2026,” hosted by the B K Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology, concluded with a dignified valedictory ceremony. The event was graced by Chief Guest and Director Prof. B. K. Rout, Special Guest K. K. Pareek, Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, and HOD Dr. Y. K. Gupta.
Director Prof. B. K. Rout addressed the gathering, emphasizing that communication skills are vital in the modern competitive landscape. He encouraged the 200+ student participants to persistently refine their creativity and expressive power. Event Coordinator Dr. Manusmriti Sharma noted that the fest successfully featured 10 diverse activities.
Competition Highlights & Winners:
Speech & Discussion: Nakul Kataria won the Extempore, while Lokesh Singh topped the Group Discussion.
Creative Writing & Presentation: Suraj Singh secured first in Essay Writing, and the team of Kashish & Kavinder won the Presentation skills event.
Spontaneity & Logic: Isha Swami dominated the “On and Off” competition and shared first place in Picture Description with Naitik. In the Debate, the duo Ishu & Pratiksha took top honors.
Narrative & Media: Khushal & Mital won Story Writing, while Sangam & Akshita led the AD-MAD Show. Naman Agrawal emerged victorious in the Kahoot Quiz.

The event’s success was driven by Faculty Coordinator Dr. Disha Meel and a dedicated student coordination team. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, celebrating a week of immense intellectual growth and artistic flair.

Day 4

Day Four of Literary Odyssey 2026 centered on spontaneity, sharp observation, and mental agility. The day’s events pushed students to interpret complex visuals and navigate opposing viewpoints with composure. Picture Description This competition tested participants’ ability to decode visual cues on the spot. Images spanning social issues, technology, and environmental concerns were presented, requiring students to articulate coherent narratives under time pressure.

The event evaluated emotional intelligence and the ability to link imagery to broader national themes. The judging panel consisted of Lt. Anil Datik, Dr. Anupama Sharma (ASH), Divesh Rohilla (ASH), and Dr. Nitin (ASH), who noted the participants’ impressive depth of perception and vocabulary. On and Off Competition As one of the fest’s most challenging highlights, this event demanded extreme mental flexibility. Participants were required to speak both in favor of and against a single topic, often switching stances with minimal preparation. This format prioritized balanced reasoning and the ability to view complex issues from multiple perspectives.

The competition was adjudicated by Dr. Rajeev Kumar (ECE), Dr. Manoj Bhatt (ECE), Suman Garg (CS), and Ms. Ruchi Sharma (CS). The session successfully showcased the intellectual maturity and persuasive communication skills of the students. By focusing on analytical observation and balanced thinking, Day Four reinforced essential traits for future professionals, fostering a generation of responsible citizens capable of articulate and nuanced expression.

Day 3

Day Three of Literary Odyssey 2026 was an intellectually vibrant showcase of creativity, analytical thinking, and structured expression, centered on the theme of national progress. Story Writing and Narration Blending imagination with performance, teams were challenged to develop and narrate a story starting from a spontaneous prompt.

The event tested logical sequencing and stage confidence, with voice modulation playing a key role in the presentations. The panel of judges included Mr. Sanjeev Sultania (CS), Dr. Harshita Samota (CS), and Chitranjan Kumar (ASH). Debate Competition Twenty teams engaged in a stimulating debate on the motion: “Engineers are the Real Architects of Viksit Bharat.” Participants displayed sharp critical thinking and persuasive communication, defending their stances with real-world examples.

The session was adjudicated by Dr. Rajesh Singh Shekhawat (EE), T. R. Sharma (EE), and Dr. Y. K. Gupta (HOD-ASH), highlighting the vital role of technical expertise in national development. Essay Writing Competition With over 50 participants, this event allowed students to reflect on “The Role of Youth in Nation Building.” The essays focused on ethics, innovation, and leadership, showcasing deep social responsibility. Submissions were evaluated by Ms. Shibani Sotiya (Commerce) and Mr. Jitender Kumar (CS) for their coherence and mature perspectives. The day concluded as a resounding success, significantly enhancing the participants’ verbal and written communication skills while fostering a visionary outlook toward Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

Day 2

The Viksit Bharat @ 2047 – Voice of Youth fest successfully engaged students through two high-impact events: an Extempore Competition and a Presentation Skills Competition, both centered on India’s vision for 2047. Extempore Competition With 30 participants, this event challenged students to deliver spontaneous insights on themes like digital transformation, sustainable development, and youth leadership. Participants were given two minutes to prepare and two minutes to speak, testing their presence of mind, clarity, and articulation.

The competition was judged by Mr. Sandeep K Yadav (ASH), Mr. Suresh Kumar (CS), and Ms. Nisha Rathore (ASH). The session highlighted the visionary perspectives of the youth regarding India’s future. Presentation Skills Competition This event saw participation from 16 teams, focusing on collaboration and strategic planning. Teams of two delivered structured presentations on the “Viksit Bharat” theme, showcasing deep research into technological foresight and national goals. Beyond content, teams were evaluated on slide design, body language, and time management by a distinguished panel: Dr. Puja Kumari (ECE), Dr. Rashmi Jangid (ASH), and Dr. Md Ajharul (ASH).

The competition served as a platform for students to refine the analytical and professional skills vital for their future careers. Both events collectively fostered a spirit of innovation and social responsibility, empowering students to contribute meaningfully to the national narrative of development.

Day 1

Day One of Literary Odyssey 2026 kicked off on 23 February 2026, delivering a high-energy start with the AD-MAD Show and Group Discussion competitions. Approximately 60 students stepped into the arena, demonstrating a sophisticated blend of artistic flair and intellectual rigor. The AD-MAD competition served as a vibrant stage for marketing ingenuity, where participants were challenged to craft persuasive narratives and showcase their creative branding skills. In contrast, the Group Discussion rounds shifted the focus toward logical reasoning, evaluating the students on their communication clarity, analytical depth, and ability to navigate complex topics under pressure.

The professional execution of these events was overseen by a distinguished panel of judges: Dr. Krishna Meel (Associate Professor, ASH), Dr. Mohan (Assistant Professor, ASH), and Dr. Nishant Kumar (Assistant Professor, Electrical Engineering). Their expert evaluation ensured a high standard of competition throughout the day. This successful opening not only highlighted the participants’ ability to innovate and articulate ideas effectively but also set an ambitious tone for the remainder of the fest. Inauguration Literary Odyssey fest

The five-day Inter-College Literary Fest, “Literary Odyssey 2026,” was inaugurated with grandeur on 23rd February 2026 at the B K Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology (BKBIET), Pilani. Organized by the Literary Club, the fest centers on the visionary theme “Viksit Bharat @ 2047 – Voice of Youth,” aiming to provide a dynamic platform for students to share their creative ideas for nation-building.

The ceremony commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ritual, graced by Director Prof. (Dr.) B. K. Rout, Principal Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, and Dr. Y. K. Gupta (HOD, ASH). In his address, Director Rout emphasized that the youth’s active participation is the cornerstone of achieving the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, urging students to become confident agents of positive change. Principal Sharma further highlighted how literary engagements bridge the gap between academic learning and essential life skills like logical thinking and communication. Successfully coordinated by Dr. Manusmriti Sharma and Dr. Disha Meel, the fest features a diverse lineup of competitions, including the Ad-Mad Show, Group Discussion, Kahoot Quiz, Essay Writing, Extempore, and Debate. These activities are designed to foster holistic development and expressive energy. Running until 27th February 2026, the event will culminate in a valedictory ceremony to honor the winners. This vibrant opening has ignited a spirit of innovation and enthusiasm at BKBIET, marking a significant milestone in the institute’s commitment to nurturing young, articulate leaders for India’s future.
