B K Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology (BKBIET), Pilani organized an expert talk on the topic “Essential Soft Skills for Teachers and Students in the AI Era” on 23 March 2026.
The session was delivered by Prof. B. R. Natarajan, a distinguished academician from Banasthali Vidyapith and former Dean & Professor at BITS Pilani, who shared insightful perspectives on the importance of soft skills in today’s AI-driven world. He emphasized how communication, adaptability, critical thinking and emotional intelligence complement technical expertise and contribute to academic and professional success.
He also explained how these skills can be effectively applied in studies and careers and highlighted the relevance of teachings from the Bhagavad Gita in developing discipline, clarity, and ethical values. The session was highly interactive and beneficial for both faculty members and students.
The program was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. B. K. Rout, Director, BKBIET Pilani, Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Principal, BKBIET, Mr. Manoj Gaud, Principal BTTI, Dr. Vipin Kumar, Principal, BKBIHE, along with Heads of Departments, faculty members of BKBIET, BTTI and BKBIHE and students.
The event was successfully coordinated by Mr. Ramakant Soni, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, along with a dedicated team of student coordinators including Kushal (AI, 2nd Year), Nitin (CS, 2nd Year), Mitali, and Isha, ensuring the smooth conduct of the session.
