One day seminar on “Research Paper Writing Methodology Encompassing Plagiarism” was successfully organized on 27 March 2026 at BK Birla Institute of Engineering & Technology, Pilani. The programme was conducted under the Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) by MSME, Government of India, IETE Pilani Centre, IETE Student Forum (ISF), BKBIET in collaboration with Department of Applied Science and Technology.The session aimed to provide students with valuable insights into research paper writing, plagiarism awareness, and academic publishing practices.
The event was graced by the presence of several esteemed dignitaries, including Prof. B. N. Basu, Distinguished Adjunct Professor at SKFGI and former Professor and Head at IIT-BHU; Dr. Nikhil Suri, Senior Principal Scientist F at CSIR-CEERI, Pilani; Dr. Bhausaheb Borte, Scientist F at CSIR-CEERI, Pilani; Prof. Bijay Kumar Rout, Director of BKBIET; and Dr. Hasibur Rahman, Associate Professor in the ECE department at BKBIET. The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Krishna Meel, EC Member of the IETE Pilani Centre and ISF Faculty Coordinator.
The programme began at 3:00 PM with a welcome and bouquet presentation by Dr. Y. K. Gupta. Dr. Nikhil Suri then introduced the Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (MSME), followed by an address from Director Prof. Bijay Kumar Rout encouraging research and innovation. Dr. Bhausaheb Borte introduced keynote speaker Prof. B. N. Basu, who delivered an informative session on research paper writing, covering structure, ethics, plagiarism, and patents.
A felicitation ceremony was held in his honor, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Krishna Meel at 5:00 PM. Around 75 students and faculty members participated. The organizers thanked IETE Pilani Centre, MSME, all dignitaries, and student coordinators—Vansh Verma, Deepika, Yash, Vihaan, Sameer, Renuka, Deepanshu, Aaditya, and Tarun—for their support. The session proved valuable in improving students’ understanding of research methodology and ethical practices.
